Can you tell us a bit about yourself ?

Born and raised in Missoula, Montana. Moved to Park City full-time to pursue skiing in the spring of 2014. Recently retired professional freeskier and two-time Olympian (2018 and 2022). Currently studying business at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

When did you start skiing?

I started skiing when I was 3 years old at my home resort Snowbowl.

Why did you choose freeski after mogul skiing?

I started doing freestyle because my dad was interested in that when he was younger. He wanted both my brother and I to get into mogul skiing so that is where we began and initially we loved it. However, freeskiing started to gain more traction and terrain parks became more relevant around the nation. I started traveling to ski park and fell in love instantly. I loved how fun and creative it was. I always wanted to go to the Olympics so I stuck with moguls until Freeski was announced that it would be added to the Olympics and I made the switch immediately.

What is the best memory of your career?

I’ve had so many amazing memories over my career, but one sticks out. I was nursing a bit of an injury going into the Olympics last season but managed to keep my body healthy enough to compete. In the Big Air event, I came out and landed a trick(Switch bio 1080 safety) that I had only done once before, four years prior. I got a good score from this trick and was one of only a couple performing this trick. I landed my second trick and made the Olympic final. In finals, I tried a double cork 1260 for the first time in practice on the day of finals. I wasn’t able to land everything in the competition as I had hoped, but I was able to showcase the absolute pinnacle of my abilities at the biggest contest in the world and I will forever be thankful for that experience. It truly was the most magical day.

Apart from skiing, what are your passions?

Apart from skiing, I love being outdoors and playing sports. Some of my favorite things to do lately are pickleball, spikeball, and mountain biking. I love just about any sport and love to travel and be outdoors.

If you were not a skier, what would you be? And why?

I think if I were not a skier I would be a Food Network Chef. I love to cook and I think it

would be so cool to have your own cooking show. I would also love to compete on all the

amazing cooking shows on tv right now.

What is the strongest lesson that skiing has taught you?

Skiing has taught me so many things, but I think above all, it taught me perseverance. I have had to overcome so many setbacks, injuries, and hardships over my career that have shaped who I am today. It has taught me to work hard and fight to get to where I wanted to be through all the ups and downs.

What would you say to young women who’d like to get into skiing?

Traveling the world and doing what you love is one of the most incredible things anyone could ever ask for. My advice is if you want it, to pursue it with everything you have. It is such a privilege to be a professional athlete, but it doesn’t come easily. It requires so much hard work, talent, and determination and it is so physically, mentally, and emotionally challenging.

What’s your plan for the coming season?

I got knee surgery in May so I’m still working on getting back to 100% after that. As a recently retired professional freeskier, my hope is to just have fun and ski for myself this season. I have spent the past 10 years training and competing, so I am really looking forward to enjoying a different type of skiing.

What are you most excited about joining the Movement Tribe and what

does it mean to you?

I am incredibly excited to be joining the Movement tribe. I’m so happy to have a ski sponsor that is supporting me through a new phase in my skiing. I look forward to skiing outside of the park and creating content with Movement and meeting the rest of the tribe.
